Le peso chilien est la monnaie officielle du Chili. La devise chilienne est identifiée par le code ISO CLP et le symbole est $. En langage familier, les chiliens appellent 1 000 pesos : « una luca ». Ainsi, par exemple, 12 000 pesos se diront : « doce lucas ».
Il existe 5 coupures en billets de pesos chiliens et 6 pièces de monnaie. Cependant, les pièces de 1 et 2 Pesos Chiliens ne sont plus utilisées depuis 2017 car les montants sont arrondis à la dizaine près.
